Academy Gallery
The museum, fourth in Italy for number of visitors after the Uffizi, exhibits the greatest number of Michelangelo’s sculptures to the world (seven), including the famous David.
Other sections are also housed in the Gallery, including the largest and most important collection in the world of paintings with a gold background[2], and the Museum of musical instruments, where are exhibited many artefacts belonging to the historical collection of the Conservatory Luigi cherubini.
Time of visit
From Wednesday to Sunday: 8:15 am to 6:50 pm, every 15 minutes.
The ticket office closes at 18:20
Closing operations begin at 18:40
On 24 and 31 December 2019 the Gallery closes at 18:00
